Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane (NSWC Crane) honored 16 engineers with a graduation ceremony and reception at Club Lakeview on Monday, 17 October. Graduates of the Masters of Science Electrical and Computer Engineering (MSECE) program and Electronic Warfare Engineer Certificate (GTPE) program were presented their diplomas by Captain J.T. Elder, Commanding Officer, NSWC Crane, and Dr. Brett Seidle, Technical Director, NSWC Crane.
As the first consortium of three educational institutions (Purdue, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, and Naval Post Graduate School), the curriculum was designed with rigor and technology concentrated to meet the specific goals of NSWC Crane to support its Warfighters. The program began in Fall 2012 and concluded in June 2016.
Ms. Cindy McNabb (Training Officer, NSWC Crane), Ms. Janna Foxx (Department Director of Spectrum Warfare Systems, NSWC Crane), Ms. Amber Hoffman (Acting Academic Development Program Manager, NSWC Crane) were among those who joined Captain Elder and Dr. Seidle in welcoming guests and offering congratulatory remarks to the graduates.
“The graduates are to be commended for their dedication, perseverance, and diligence in the completion of these prestigious programs,” Captain Elder said. “It is a pleasure to welcome these 16 new engineers to the workforce, and it is my hope that the skills they learned in these programs will propel them to prosperous careers in the future.”
Family members and supervisors of the graduates in attendance were recognized for their support of the graduates through the duration of the program. Distinguished guests from the Purdue School of Engineering & Technology, IUPUI, included Dr. Paul Salama, Dr. Lauren Christopher, and Ms. Sherrie Tucker.
